Clue prompts you can copy
Short and clear wins. One idea per card.
- “Check the cold box where ice lives.”
- “Look under the seat you use for snacks.”
- “Find the switch that lights the porch.”
- “Peek inside a shoe by the door.”
- “Next stop: the bathroom faucet’s friend.”
- “Search the lowest stair, on the wall.”
- “Open a book and look inside.”
- “Prize waits in a kitchen cabinet.”
Want to rhyme but don’t have time?
Use one rhyme word and keep it simple. It still feels fun.
- “Feeling brave, take a look by the microwave.”
- “Don’t peek late, the clue’s by the gate.”
Not every card needs a rhyme. Mix styles. It’s faster.
Running the hunt
Say this to start
- “We’ve got clues. Each card points to the next spot.”
- “Stick with your buddy. No running on stairs.”
- “Read the clues on the cards out loud so everyone hears.”
Set a 20–30 minute timer and go.
Age tweaks
- Little ones (3–5): use 8–10 cards and pair with a big kid.
- Big kids (6+): use all 16 and add a 25‑minute timer.
- Mixed ages: rotate jobs—reader, spot‑checker, prize carrier.
Shortcuts for busy nights
- Short on time? Hide every other card and run 8.
- Small home? Stick to one zone like kitchen + living room.
- Big group? Print two sets and stagger your starts.
