A spa party has one thing going for it that most party themes don't... the vibe is already built in. Soft music, face masks, painted nails. The atmosphere practically sets itself.

What it needs is games that match that energy. Not loud and chaotic (save that for Halloween). Not babyish. Something that feels relaxed but still keeps everyone engaged and laughing.

These 15 games are designed specifically for tween and teen girls aged 9 to 16. Each one works as a full DIY setup (instructions below) or as a ready-to-print version from my Spa Party Games Printable Bundle. Pick whichever fits your timeline.

What Makes a Spa Party Game Work for Tweens and Teens

Three things separate a game that fits a spa party from one that kills the mood.

First, it has to match the atmosphere. A spa party is relaxed by design. Games that are too loud or too physical feel out of place. The best ones are social, a little silly, and easy to play while someone's nails are drying.

Second, it needs to work for the age range. Tweens and teens are a wide spectrum. Games that feel too young get dismissed immediately. The tone needs to feel like it was made for them, not adapted from something for younger kids.

Third, variety matters more than intensity. A spa party runs for a few hours. You need icebreakers for the start, something competitive for the middle, and quieter activities for when everyone's winding down. A mix of 15 games covers all of it.

Every game below checks those boxes.

15 Spa Party Games for Tweens and Teens

Each game below includes full DIY instructions so you can put your own version together, plus a note on what the printable version adds if you'd rather skip the prep. The full set is in my Spa Party Games Printable Bundle.

1. What's Your Spa Name?

DIY version: Create a grid where the first letter of each guest's first name gives them a relaxing adjective (Glowing, Radiant, Serene) and the first letter of their last name gives them a spa noun (Rose, Petal, Mist). Read the grid aloud and let everyone find their spa name for the night.

In the bundle: Already designed and formatted. Print and pass around as guests arrive.

Best for: Icebreaker at the very start of the party. Quick, no explanation needed, and gives everyone a name for the night.

2. Who Knows Her Best?

DIY version: Write 15 to 20 questions about the birthday girl in advance, things like her favourite film, her go-to snack, her most-used emoji. Guests write their answers on paper and the one who gets the most right wins.

In the bundle: Question cards and answer sheets included, already formatted and ready to print.

Best for: Any group size. Works especially well early in the party when guests are still settling in.

3. Candy Dice Game

DIY version: Write a list of spa-themed dares and challenges on slips of paper. Players take turns rolling a die and completing whatever challenge matches their number. Keep them light and on-theme: "give someone a 30-second hand massage" or "name five luxury spa treatments."

In the bundle: Challenges, scoring, and rules all included. Print and play.

Best for: Groups of 4 or more. Good mid-party energy when the icebreakers are done and you want something with a bit more momentum.

4. Selfie Scavenger Hunt

DIY version: Write 10 to 15 spa-themed selfie challenges on slips of paper. "Everyone in face masks." "A group photo holding nail polish." "Someone pretending to be asleep on a massage table." Split into teams, hand over a phone per team, and race to complete them all first.

In the bundle: 30 creative spa-themed prompts formatted as cards. Works for printing or screenshotting to each team's phone.

Best for: Bigger groups (6 or more). High energy for a spa party, but in a fun way. This one tends to generate the best photos of the night.

5. This or That

DIY version: Write pairs of spa and beauty choices on cards: "bubble bath or shower?" "manicure or pedicure?" "face mask or hair mask?" Players take turns picking their preference and explaining why. No wrong answers, just opinions.

In the bundle: Full set of This or That cards already designed and ready to cut and play.

Best for: Any group size. Great filler game that keeps conversation flowing naturally.

6. Would You Rather?

DIY version: Write spa and beauty-themed Would You Rather questions on slips of paper and put them in a bowl. Players take turns picking one and answering. "Would you rather have perfect skin forever or perfect hair forever?" Keep them fun and debatable.

In the bundle: Full deck of spa-themed prompts designed to get the group talking and laughing.

Best for: Any group size. Works well while nails are drying or face masks are on, no hands needed.

7. Who Is Most Likely To?

DIY version: Write "Most Likely To" prompts on cards: "most likely to become a beauty influencer," "most likely to open her own salon," "most likely to spend an hour choosing a nail colour." Players vote simultaneously by pointing at the person they think fits best.

In the bundle: Prompt cards included, balanced for a group of tween and teen girls.

Best for: Groups who know each other well. Gets louder and funnier as the night goes on.

8. Word Scramble

DIY version: Write out 10 to 15 spa-themed words with the letters jumbled on a sheet of paper and see who can unscramble them all fastest. Think "AASMGES" for massage and "UACFIL" for facial.

In the bundle: Formatted and ready to print, with an answer sheet included.

Best for: A quieter activity while guests are arriving or between louder rounds.

9. Word Search

DIY version: Use a free online word search generator to create a spa-themed puzzle with words like "pedicure," "rosewater," "exfoliate," and "serenity." Print one per player and race to find all the words first.

In the bundle: Already designed with spa-themed words and ready to print, with an answer sheet included.

Best for: Same energy as the word scramble. Good paired activity for the start of the party.

10. Spin the Nail Polish

DIY version: Place a bottle of nail polish in the centre of the group and spin it. Whoever it points to has to answer a question or complete a dare. Write your own questions on slips of paper in advance, keeping them light and spa-themed.

In the bundle: Question and dare cards included, designed to fit the spa party vibe.

Best for: Any group size. Works especially well once nails are done and everyone's relaxed.

11. Charades

DIY version: Write spa treatments, beauty products, and wellness activities on slips of paper. Players take turns acting out their card without speaking while the group guesses. "Getting a facial," "applying a hair mask," "trying to open a jar of face cream" all work well.

In the bundle: Spa-themed charades cards already written and ready to cut and play.

Best for: Groups of 6 or more. One of the louder games in the set, good for mid-party when energy is high.

12. A to Z Word Game

DIY version: Choose a spa or beauty theme and write A to Z down a sheet of paper. Players race to fill every letter with a related word. No Googling allowed. "A for aromatherapy, B for blush, C for cucumber" and so on.

In the bundle: Pre-formatted sheets with themed prompts included for quick setup.

Best for: Any group size. Works well as a timed challenge with a small prize for the winner.

13. Find the Guest Bingo

DIY version: Create bingo cards with prompts in each square: "has painted toenails," "owns a jade roller," "has tried a sheet mask," "knows all the words to a Taylor Swift song." Guests mingle to find people who match each square. First to complete a row wins.

In the bundle: Ready-made bingo cards with spa and beauty-themed prompts, balanced for a group of tween and teen girls.

Best for: Bigger groups (8 or more). Great icebreaker if guests don't all know each other.

14. Scattergories

DIY version: Create a list of 10 spa and beauty categories: nail colours, face mask ingredients, luxury brands, relaxing scents. Roll a die to pick a letter and set a timer. Players write one answer per category starting with that letter. Points go to unique answers only.

In the bundle: Category cards and scoring sheets included, spa-themed and ready to play.

Best for: Groups of 4 or more. Competitive enough to keep teens invested, calm enough to fit the spa vibe.

15. What's On Your Phone?

DIY version: Make a checklist of things tween and teen girls might actually have on their phones: a beauty tutorial saved, a skincare brand followed, a selfie with a face mask on, a playlist with a spa-worthy name. Award points for each one found.

In the bundle: Scored for you with point values already assigned. No list to invent on the night.

Best for: Any group size. Gets phones out in a way that's social rather than everyone disappearing into their own screen.

Running the Party Smoothly

A few things that make the difference between a spa party that flows and one that loses momentum.

Have the first game ready before guests arrive. A spa party can feel slow to start if there's nothing to do while everyone's getting settled. What's Your Spa Name? and Find the Guest Bingo both work well as arrival activities that don't need everyone present to begin.

Alternate active games (Selfie Scavenger Hunt, Charades) with quieter ones (Would You Rather, Word Search). The spa setting means you don't want everything to be high energy, but you also don't want the party to go flat. A natural rhythm between the two keeps it feeling right.

Time the messier games around the treatments. Charades and Scattergories work well before nails are done. Would You Rather and What's On Your Phone work well after, when everyone's waiting for things to dry.

If you're using the Spa Party Games Printable Bundle, print everything before the day and stack the games in the order you plan to play them. Having 15 games prepped and ready means you can move from one to the next without any scrambling mid-party.
