1. Ice Cream Cone Relay

An Ice Cream Cone Relay is meltingly good entertainment with two things guaranteed: Lots of fun and lots of mess!

The primary goal is to pass an ice cream cone loaded with ice cream from one player to another without dropping it.

Supplies:

  • Ice cream cones
  • Ice cream scoop
  • Ice cream
  • To set up a racecourse with a start and finish line.

How To Play

Divide the participants into teams. Each team lines up at the starting point. The first player in each team holds an ice cream cone with a scoop of ice cream in it.

On go, the first player races to a designated point and then back to hand off the cone to the next player.

Continue until all team members have had a turn. The first team to successfully complete the relay wins.

If you really want to up the ante, you can have bowls of ice cream and scoops at each end of the race course, so each time a player gets to them, they must add another scoop of ice cream to the cone.

2. Ice Cream Blind Taste Test

Now this is one delicious game, but that said, it doesn’t have to be if you want to be really mean! The goal is for everyone to guess the flavour of the ice cream.

Supplies:

  • A variety of ice cream flavours
  • If you want to be mean, create some yukky flavours or add chilli sauce
  • Bowls and spoons
  • Blindfolds
  • Pens and paper for noting down guesses

How To Play

Arrange a variety of ice cream flavours in bowls and blindfold the participants. They take turns tasting each flavour without being able to see it.

3. Ice Cream Scoop Toss

Ice Cream Scoop Toss is a fun and lively game perfect for any ice cream party.

Supplies:

  • Ping pong or small foam balls
  • Ice cream cones
  • Bowls
  • Buckets
  • Plenty of space to play the game

How to play

Fill bowls with the balls and give each player an ice cream cone. Challenge them to scoop up a ball into the cone and then toss the ball to see if they can get it into the bucket.

You can make the game more challenging by having a series of buckets at differing distances.

4. Build Your Own Sundae Activity

Now, this is more of an activity than a game, but I’ve added a way you can gamefiy it at the end, so keep reading…

Set up a table with various flavours of ice cream. Vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry are popular choices. Place them in bowls with scoops for easy serving.

Next, arrange an assortment of toppings. Include items like sprinkles, chocolate chips, crushed biscuits, gummy bears, marshmallows and nuts. Add some fresh fruits like strawberries, bananas, and cherries for a healthier option.

Sauces are obvs. essential too! Chocolate syrup, caramel, and strawberry sauce always go down well. Provide whipped cream cans for those wanting an extra treat.

Offer a mix of cones, wafers and cups.

You can gameify the Sundae station with a cute game like this Ice Cream Toppings Dice Game that’s part of the Ice Cream Games bundle in my Big Heart Little Star shop.

  • Napkins or paper towels

Set each player up with their supplies, set the timer for a minute and see who can build the tallest tower that is still standing at the end of the minute.

6. Pin the Cherry on the Sundae

Pin the Cherry on the Sundae is a delightful twist on the classic “Pin the Tail on the Donkey.” It’s perfect for an ice cream-themed party.
