10-Minute Wonders: Screen-Free Activities While You Finish That Work Call

10-Minute Wonders: Screen-Free Activities While You Finish That Work Call

School breaks don't necessarily mean work breaks for parents. So, from one parent to another... here's your survival guide for keeping kids happily occupied when you need just a few more minutes.... without sticking them in front of a screen.

The School Break Juggling Act

School breaks are somewhat of a meaty challenge for parents. Whether you're working from home, tackling household chores, or simply need a moment to organise your thoughts, having ideas to hand for activities that keep children independently engaged is essential.

The smart parent (YOU!) has a list of quick-setup, engaging activities that children can do with minimal supervision... giving you those precious minutes to finish a work call, send an important email, or focus on a chore without resorting to screens.

Ditch The Guilt

Independent play isn't just a survival strategy for busy parents, it's a way of helping kids develop crucial skills: creativity, problem-solving, focus, and self-reliance.

So these 10-minute wonders aren't just helping you focus on your work call; they're building your child's confidence and capabilities.

It's a win win!

What Makes a Perfect "10-Minute Wonder"?

So, what does make a "10-minute wonder"? Well, all of the ideas I've put together have a few common threads running through them, they each...

  • Take less than 1 minute to set up
  • Engage children independently
  • Create minimal mess
  • Can be extended if you need more time
  • Require materials you likely already have at home
