14 Mega Fun Sleepover Games That Will Have Kids Giggling All Night
Luci McQuitty HindmarshCompartir
So you're in need of games for a kids' sleepover that will keep everyone having oodles of fun without turning your home upside down. Well, this is the games list you need!
I've put together a bunch of 14 sleepover games that work for a multitude of group sizes and energy levels.
There are ideas for printable games for a little cerebral fun (!!), games that involve a little more moving around for burning off energy, and team games that work brilliantly with bigger groups.
Most importantly, I've chosen this particular selection because these are the games that will keep kids entertained without you having to referee every five minutes. Some need a bit of prep, others use stuff you already have at home.
Before you get cracking with the list, I thought I'd let you know I've put together a whole guide to hosting a brilliant sleepover party: 80+ Fun Sleepover Party Ideas For Kids That Won't Break The Budget
Simple But Fun Sleepover Games
These work perfectly when you need something quick to set up. Print them beforehand and you're sorted.
1. Would You Rather? – Sleepover Edition
Group size: 2–10
What you'll need: Printable question cards
How to play: Take turns drawing cards and answering with your pick. For a twist, have players guess what the others will choose—whoever guesses correctly earns a point. First to 10 points wins.
2. Sleepover Scavenger Hunt
Group size: 2–10
What you'll need: Printable list with sleepover-related items (e.g., "a fluffy slipper," "someone giggling," "a midnight snack")
How to play: Players race to find all items on the list. Set a time limit and see who can tick off the most boxes. First to find everything wins a small prize.

3. Candy Dice Game
Group size: 3–8
What you'll need: Dice, printable score sheet, and a bowl of wrapped sweets
How to play: Players roll the dice and follow candy-related rules (e.g., "Roll a 6—take 2 sweets", "Roll a 3—swap with another player"). Game ends when sweets are gone.

4. Silly Sleepover Quiz
Group size: 4–10
What you'll need: Printable quiz with funny questions about sleep, dreams, and bedtime
How to play: Players answer ridiculous questions like "What do you think cats dream about?" or "If pillows could talk, what would they complain about?" Award points for the funniest answers. Most creative responses win.
5. Sleepover Pictionary
Group size: 4–10
What you'll need: Printable word/phrase prompts + pens and paper or whiteboard
How to play: Players take turns drawing their word while others try to guess within a time limit. Play in teams for bigger groups.
Movement and Active Games
Perfect for when everyone's bouncing off the walls. These games burn energy without breaking furniture.
6. Sardines (Reverse Hide & Seek)
Group size: 4–10
What you'll need: A house or sleepover space with good hiding spots
How to play: One person hides while everyone else seeks. As each seeker finds the hider, they quietly squeeze into the same hiding spot. Last one to find the group is next to hide.
7. Glow Stick Tag
Group size: 4–10
What you'll need: Glow stick bracelets/necklaces; a dimmed room or safe outdoor space
How to play: One child is "it" and wears a different-coloured glow stick. Others run or sneak around. When tagged, they become "it."
8. Balloon Pop Challenges
Group size: 3–10
What you'll need: Balloons with folded challenge slips inside
How to play: Players sit on a balloon to pop it, then complete the challenge (e.g., "sing a song backwards"). Give points or rewards for bravery and success.
9. Freeze Dance Battle
Group size: 2–10
What you'll need: Music and a pause button
How to play: Players dance until the music stops—they must freeze on the spot. Anyone who moves is out. Extra fun if players take turns judging freeze poses.
10. Sleepy Charades
Group size: 4–10
What you'll need: Charades prompts (printable or written on slips of paper)
How to play: Act out funny sleepover-themed prompts (like "brushing teeth while sleepwalking") while others guess. Time each round and tally up correct guesses.
Bigger Group Games
These work brilliantly when you've got a bigger group and want everyone involved at once.
11. Pass the Pillow
Group size: 4–10
What you'll need: One pillow and a stack of challenge cards
How to play: Like musical chairs—pass the pillow while music plays. When it stops, the person holding it picks and performs a challenge. Keep score or play just for fun.
12. Pyjama Relay
Group size: 4–10
What you'll need: Two sets of oversized pyjamas, slippers, and eye masks
How to play: In teams, players race to dress in full pyjamas, run to a checkpoint, undress, and tag the next person. Fastest team wins.
13. Don't Wake the Grown-Ups
Group size: 3–10
What you'll need: A grown-up volunteer lying down pretending to sleep
How to play: Players must tiptoe from one side of the room to the other without waking the grown-up (who tries to "catch" them moving). Great for late-night giggles.
14. The Sock Game
Group size: 2–8
What you'll need: A large sock or pillowcase filled with random small household objects; a list of items to find
How to play: Players reach into the sock without looking and try to identify items by feel alone. Timer adds excitement—most correctly guessed wins.
